Hoopeston looking for program's help with downtown
HOOPESTON – Hoopeston city officials and residents hope to reclaim part of the city's once-bustling downtown area and are seeking assistance from the Illinois Main Street Program.
Residents created a standing-room-only crowd Tuesday for a meeting with Wendy Bell, Illinois Main Street Program coordinator, and Darius Bryjka, Main Street designer. Bell and Bryjka toured the city earlier in the afternoon and met with the community to explain the program and its advantages.
