Champaign City Building to get security cameras
CHAMPAIGN – A security camera system will soon be installed both inside and outside the Champaign City Building.
City Manager Steve Carter said the camera system, which will cost more than $29,000, is a low-impact way of enhancing public safety, as opposed to more intrusive steps like hiring a security guard and installing a metal detector. A city building security committee recommended buying the system.
