Ten Tuskegee Airmen to receive medals from UI
URBANA – Ten Tuskegee Airmen, who challenged the status quo and changed society during and after World War II, will be honored by the University of Illinois today. They will be presented medals at halftime of the Western Illinois University game.
On Friday, Harvey Alexander was at a reception in the Illini Union. At 86, he looks at least 20 years younger, and is full of stories about his past, including some memories that would make other men bitter.
