Vermilion County proposes no tax increase
DANVILLE – For the first time in at least four years, taxpayers can expect no tax increase next year on the Vermilion County portion of their tax bills.
"It's not a year to ask taxpayers to dig deeper," said Vermilion County Board Chairman Jim McMahon, who vowed since taking over as chairman last fall that there would be no tax increase in the county's next fiscal year, which begins Dec. 1.
