Charges dismissed against ex-clerk
MONTICELLO – Charges alleging that the former circuit clerk in Piatt County threatened a police officer and resisted arrest have been dismissed in light of his progress in treatment for alcoholism.
Piatt County State's Attorney Leonard Rumery said that on Monday he dismissed charges of aggravated assault and resisting a peace officer, both misdemeanors, that he had filed against Gary Bickel in March.
