Man accused of stealing from couple
URBANA – A Champaign man is accused of taking money from an Urbana couple after falsely claiming he needed money because his wife had been involved in an accident.
Mark Ohrnstein, 38, who listed an address in the 2000 block of Melrose Drive, Champaign, was arraigned and pleaded innocent Monday to a felony charge of theft with a prior theft conviction. His bond was set at $1,000 and he is due to return to court for a pretrial hearing Oct. 23.
