Senate´s capital strategy based on new casinos
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Senate narrowly approved legislation Tuesday night that would dramatically expand gaming to pay for roads, bridges, public transportation, school construction and other infrastructure improvements around the state.
"This bill, this funding stream, helps us go forward," said state Sen. Donne Trotter, D-Chicago. "We have an opportunity now to really do something for the citizens of Illinois."
