Urbana attorney loses law license for at least 6 months
SPRINGFIELD – Urbana attorney Charles E. Petit will lose his law license for at least six months, under an Illinois Supreme Court order filed on Tuesday.
The penalty the court imposed was recommended by the commission's hearing board, which found that Petit had "knowingly and repeatedly" made false statements to a client over a two-year period and attempted to obtain fees for work that he had not performed for her.
