Scouts learn survival skills
It had been a long day. For nearly seven hours Saturday, the nine members of Boy Scout Troop 365 climbed hills, crossed a river and cooked lunch, and just tried to survive – armed with a map, a compass and an oversized backpack full of supplies.
The troop was one of five in the Many Streams District that spent this weekend learning how to survive as part of the Fall Camporee, part of which included an 11-mile hike through Kennekuk County Park.
