Couple facing federal bank robbery charges
URBANA – A young Rantoul couple, who officials said had a baby in their getaway car, is being held on federal charges for robbing a Rantoul bank Friday.
Making their initial appearances Monday at U.S. District Court in Urbana on charges of armed bank robbery were Ahkeem J. Thomas, 19, and Krystal Brown, 18, both of 406 Marco Drive, Rantoul. Magistrate Judge David Bernthal ruled there is probable cause to proceed to a federal grand jury for both of them.
