Guardsmen's reception set for Friday

CHAMPAIGN – A celebration for National Guard troops returning from the front lines of Iraq has been scheduled for Friday.

Charles Brock, the chairman of Project VOWEL, a group he said created to honor soldiers after Sept. 11, 2001, said he has scheduled a hero's reception for the local troops from 1 to3 p.m. Friday at the Park Inn, 2408 N. Cunningham Ave., U.
