Danville committee to get look at tax levy

DANVILLE – If she had to choose between a higher gas tax or a higher city property tax, Melanie Carpenter would choose the property tax.

"Raising property taxes don't seem to hit as hard financially, " Carpenter said, noting that her property taxes are included with her monthly mortgage payment.
