Purging shelves of old evidence can be the pits
URBANA – Erin Vandenberg was cleaning out the cubicles where exhibits for civil court cases are stored when she found a bag that she thought smelled like chocolate.
"I opened up this bag and I'm going, 'What in the world?' It was a box of chocolate-covered cherries," said Vandenberg, supervisor of records for the Champaign County Circuit Clerk's office, which keeps all court records.
