Jobless rates fall, but still higher than last year's

CHAMPAIGN – Area unemployment rates in September were generally lower than in August, but about a percentage point higher than a year ago.

Champaign County's unemployment rate in September was 4.4 percent, down from 4.8 percent in August but up from 3.3 percent in September 2006.
