Negotiations over Monticello land continue
MONTICELLO – The city is still negotiating with a local prairie preservationist to use land from a former railroad corridor for a bike path and a second entrance to Apple Tree subdivision.
But Alderman Chris Corrie, who has been working with Alderman Vince Kuetemeyer to negotiate the purchase of land from Heartland Pathways' David Monk, said he's frustrated by the lack of progress. The two parties have been negotiating for at least 11 years.
