State lawmakers return for Chicago mass transit vote
SPRINGFIELD– The Illinois House reconvenes today to vote on a financial aid package for the Chicago-area mass transit system, but some local lawmakers are more focused on money for public schools.
"Why do I care about solving Chicago's problem when I've got 16 school districts who have been waiting for the money that's already been budgeted, and are losing money every day in the form of lost interest income?" said state Rep. Chapin Rose, R-Mahomet.
