MTD tax levy not as high as original proposal
CHAMPAIGN – The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Board voted for a proposed tax levy increase of 4.9 percent Wednesday, down from the original proposal of 7.5 percent.
The $5.6 million levy is up $404,032 from fiscal year 2006-07, when the levy was up 15 percent from the previous year.
