Main Street historic area in Urbana gets approval
URBANA – Historic preservation proponents won three big victories at Monday night's city council meeting.
At a session that lasted until nearly midnight, the Urbana council voted to create a local historic district covering 14 properties in the 800 block of West Main Street, despite vigorous opposition from local developer Howard Wakeland.
