UI crop science program to share in $2 million grant
URBANA – A new bequest to the University of Illinois crop science program will encourage students to study plant breeding, a science at the heart of advances in agriculture.
"The demand is escalating," said UI crop science department head Robert Hoeft. "Seed companies are involved in putting traits into seed; that requires people with knowledge and that affects the number of people seed companies need."
