Galena ends Tuscola's bid to repeat as champs
CHAMPAIGN – The folks at Schlarman can breathe easier now. The Hilltoppers of 1980 and '81 are still the only area football teams to repeat as state champions.
Tuscola's bid to make it two in a row ended with today's 35-7 loss to unbeaten Galena at a frigid Class 1A state championship game at Memorial Stadium.
