Provena files suit against county officials
URBANA – Provena Covenant Medical Center and its parent company in Mokena have filed a lawsuit against six Champaign County officials over the county's refusal to refund millions of dollars the Urbana hospital has paid in property taxes.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Champaign County Circuit Court, names county Treasurer Dan Welch, interim Supervisor of Assessments Joe Meents, Board of Review members Stan Jenkins, Dan Stebbins and Laura Sandefur and Assistant State's Attorney Susan McGrath.
