Agencies' pet peeve: Animals as holiday gifts
URBANA – If you're thinking about placing a cute little puppy or kitten under the Christmas tree as a gift, consider resisting the urge, animal welfare experts advise.
The Champaign County Humane Society will still approve adoptions during the weeks leading up to the holidays, but expect to be asked if this adoption is going to be a gift, said Executive Director Mary Tiefenbrunn.
