Public service could lower $50,000 state fine
URBANA – Champaign County might be able to do community service work to trim down a $50,000 fine for time and cost overruns on its $24 million nursing home, which had been plagued with mold.
But the county would have to come to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, explain the reason for delays and ask for the service as an alternative to the fine, said the board's director.
