Champaign purchases lot for $280,000 for future fire station
CHAMPAIGN – City council members had some questions, but finally voted 7-1 Tuesday night to spend $280,000 to purchase a 2-acre lot from developer Clint Atkins for possible future construction of a fire station.
Council member Marci Dodds cast the lone "no" vote.
