Gusting winds snap poles; power restored

Wind gusts up to 50 mph were blamed for scattered power outages in East Central Illinois on Sunday.

According to information on AmerenIP's Web site – www.ameren.com this morning, virtually no customers in the Champaign-Urbana area were without power. But on Sunday afternoon, more than 800 customers in the Champaign-Urbana-Danville area had no power.
