Icy practices don't stop excitement as band prepares for bowl
They battled wind, rain and cold, but the Marching Illini managed to bring a little piece of the Rose Bowl to the University of Illinois campus.
Fans gathered Friday afternoon near the Harding Band Building to follow a parade route down Sixth Street, east on Pennsylvania, up Dorner Drive and around the quad. Cymbals clashed, drums boomed and horns blared as fans marched alongside the band.
