Illini great Eddleman's wife recalls 1947 trip
CHAMPAIGN – Teddy Eddleman, wife of the late "Dike" Eddleman, said the 1947 Rose Bowl trip was a special one in many ways and is looking forward to a return to Pasadena.
Dike, a three-sport star with 11 letters in football, basketball and track, played halfback and punted for the Illini football team. But he did not fly out with the team for the game, playing with the UI basketball team in two games at Berkeley before joining the football team.
