New Carle clinic facility to host open house on Thursday

CHARLESTON – The Carle Foundation will hold an open house at its new facility at 5731 Park Drive, Charleston, in the Coles Business Park, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

There will be refreshments, door prizes and self-guided tours.

The building houses a new sleep disorders center set to open in the middle of this month, along with Carle Home Health, which moved in last year, and Carle Therapy Services, which moved in during June.

Therapy services, employing nine full-time and part-time workers, was previously at Carle Foundation Physicians-Mattoon/Charleston on Lerna Road in Mattoon, and now has 5,000 square feet in the Park Drive building.

Its services include physical, occupational and speech therapy, sports medicine, occupational rehabilitation, hand rehabilitation, foot therapy and pediatric/development therapy for developmentally delayed children.

Services also include a seating and wheeled mobility clinic to evaluate and fit patients with such equipment as wheelchairs and scooters, and Lymphedema therapy to reduce swelling that occurs after damage to the lymphatic system from injury, surgery and radiation.

Carle Home Health, which includes Carle Hospice and Carle Home Care, was also located at the Lerna Road building.
