Low-cost spay, neuter clinic for pets to be held Saturday

URBANA – The Central Illinois Animal Welfare Coalition will hold its second low-cost feline spay/neuter clinic of the year Saturday.

The one-day clinic is being held by appointment at two locations: the Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main St., U, and the nearby Champaign County Animal Services Facility, 10 S. Art Bartell Road.

Low-income owners of unaltered cats are encouraged to call for an appointment at 344-PAWS, extension 18.

To qualify, cat owners must be on some kind of government assistance or have a household income of less than $40,000. Appointments are required; hours are between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the surgery, the $10 fee will cover flea treatment, micro-chipping, vaccines and county rabies registration.
