2 arrested in Mahomet for battery to New Year's reveler
MAHOMET – Two men remained in the Champaign County Jail this morning, accused of battering a man early on New Year's Day.
Champaign County Sheriff's Sgt. Dan Coile said Thomas Peters, 24, of Auburn was at a Mahomet tavern on New Year's Eve with a group of people who decided to continue their socializing at an apartment in the 2000 block of Middletown Drive in Mahomet later.
