Cities' annexing powers concern county zoning panel

CHAMPAIGN – A controversial 2005 Illinois Supreme Court decision that lets cities and villages, in effect, annex properties miles outside their boundaries is causing disagreement between Champaign and Champaign County officials.

But a possible compromise is being floated by city officials.
