Firefighters plan to secure empty homes in Melvin
MELVIN – Local firefighters will begin checking empty homes in Melvin to make sure their windows and doors are secured as a precautionary measure following several suspicious fires.
Four structure fires within six months have occurred in the Melvin area, including three at empty houses. All four are under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
