Removal of contaminated soil on hold
MAHOMET – Citing financial and liability concerns, the village board has put off approving the removal and replacement of contaminated soil on Eastwood Drive.
Soil in the Eastwood Drive right of way, where the Hen House is located, and on the CVS site to the east of the property is contaminated by gasoline tanks from a station that was at the site. The owners of the Hen House want to remove and replace all of the contaminated soil above the groundwater line, which is 5 feet deep.
