Mother who hurt her son seeks governor's clemency

Theresa Heater knows she'll never again mother the twin sons she gave birth to in July 1998. But she said she wonders constantly what their lives are like and hopes that one day they may want to see her.

Heater, 28, of Urbana, made the statements in a petition to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, asking that he commute the 18-year prison sentence she received in 2000 for aggravated battery to one of those boys, to the time she has served.
