Urbana residents give input on snow removal issue
URBANA – Even though it might be months before any action is taken, a number of residents voiced their opinions Monday night on whether the city council should require property owners to shovel sidewalks.
As expected, Mayor Laurel Prussing announced early on that she would be appointing a task force to study the issue. She said task force members will represent a wide variety of community interests, including neighborhood associations, apartment owners, business owners, the University of Illinois, people with disabilities and the Champaign-Urbana Tenant Union.
