Urbana plans year of events for milestone birthday
URBANA – The city's 175th birthday is coming up – and officials think it's worth celebrating.
Mayor Laurel Prussing said the first "birthday party" is planned for 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 17 at Lincoln Square Village. It will include a 175-centimeter-long birthday cake (nearly 6 feet long) donated by Schnucks, live music, a founding-day play or skit and an Abraham Lincoln look-alike event.
