Stop at sign, or the law will stop you
DANVILLE – On Tuesday, school bus driver Sheila Pate stopped her bus to drop off an elementary school student at the corner of Williams and Sheridan streets. After checking to make sure the road was clear, she turned on the yellow flashing lights and opened the door, causing the red lights and stop sign arm to activate.
But Pate, a driver for 12 years, stopped the girl from disembarking when she noticed a green car approach the bus and drive past.
