Businesses' tax amnesty period set to begin in February
SPRINGFIELD – Illinois stands to rake in piles of overdue business tax payments and fees by offering companies that haven't yet paid six weeks of amnesty.
Business owners are being given from Feb. 1 through March 17 to pay up without penalties and interest charges applied – plus they're being promised they won't be prosecuted in civil or criminal court for being late.
