Police officer injured when car is struck
HOOPESTON – A Hoopeston man was arrested for drunken driving early Sunday morning after the car he was driving allegedly hit a police squad car and sent the officer who was driving it to the hospital.
The officer, Chad Smith, 28, of Hoopeston, was taken to Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital, where he was released after treatment, Hoopeston police said.
