Statewide rate hearings on Ameren rate hike to start today

The Illinois Commerce Commission has scheduled six public forums throughout central and southern Illinois this month, including one in Champaign, where residents will be able to comment on Ameren's proposed electric and gas rate increases.

The forum in Champaign will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 in the Champaign City Building in council chambers, 102 N. Neil St. Others will be held in Decatur, Peoria, Quincy, Marion and Belleville.
