Veteran gets 18 months in federal prison
URBANA – A veteran of battles in Iraq who admitted stealing military property was sentenced Thursday to federal prison.
U.S. Central Illinois District Chief Judge Michael McCuskey sentenced Christopher Henkel to 18 months in federal prison. And, as included in a sentence approved in a plea agreement, the judge fined Henkel $44,000 and ordered that he pay $16,000 in restitution. The judge also sentenced Henkel to three years of supervised release, formerly known as parole.
