Board gets info on new tax option
It's not often that new tax laws are greeted with excitement.
But there was no screaming – or yawning – at the Urbana school board meeting on Tuesday evening, when the board heard about a new law that allows counties, with voter approval, to charge up to 1 percent more sales tax to go specifically toward school facilities.
