Fire cuts could have ripple effect
DANVILLE – One less fire station may affect more than the number of firefighters on the street; it may also affect homeowners' insurance costs.
Earlier this week, Mayor Scott Eisenhauer proposed closing one fire station and cutting nine firefighters as a way to solve a projected $335,000 deficit in the budget for the next fiscal year, which begins May 1.
