Guardsmen to run drills to prepare for emergencies
Soldiers and airmen from the Illinois National Guard will practice emergency response skills and working with local agencies in a homeland-security drill in Champaign County this weekend.
About 300 Illinois Army and Air National Guard personnel will practice skills and, coordinating their work with local first-response agencies, test how well units are ready to respond to large-scale emergencies in a drill on Saturday.
