Owner of old building offers to help Paxton theater group
PAXTON – With a name like Remembrance Hall, it is fitting that the Civil War-era opera hall overlooking the railroad tracks in downtown Paxton remains standing today.
Some 141 years after it was built, local historic preservationist Royce Baier hopes that Remembrance Hall, which used to be the largest gathering place in Paxton, will be standing – if not used – for centuries to come.
