Guardsman to speak at war memorial dedication
GEORGETOWN – A Georgetown native now serving in the Florida Air National Guard will serve as the main speaker for the dedication ceremony of the World War II Honor Roll monument on May 17.
Gracie Dukes, president of the World War II Honor Roll committee, told Georgetown City Council members Monday that Brig. Gen. Joseph Gregory Balskus would speak at the dedication ceremony. Dukes said she was especially pleased that he was available, because his father's name, Joseph Balskus, appears on the monument.
