City issues shoveling order
CHAMPAIGN – For the fifth time this winter, the city of Champaign has ordered property owners in the downtown area and University District to remove snow from sidewalks within a 48-hour period.
City ordinance requires that sidewalks must be cleared within 48 hours after a declaration by the city's public works director, Dennis Schmidt. In this instance, that means that sidewalks need to be shoveled by noon Friday.
