Rantoul seeking end to 'historic' dilemma
RANTOUL – A Rantoul Village Board member wants the village to appeal to the federal government to overturn a state decision preventing the Chanute Air Museum from installing new windows.
The request comes one week after the museum board sent a letter to the museum's members asking for $24,000 in contributions to keep the museum open through the end of March after the Illinois Department of Tourism turned down an application for a $35,000 grant.
