Township claims supervisor's office violating sunshine laws
DANVILLE – Danville Township has filed a lawsuit claiming Vermilion County Supervisor of Assessments Don Crist's office violated the Illinois Open Meetings and Freedom of Information acts by withholding documents and erasing an audiotape of an annual assessors' meeting.
The six-page complaint was filed Monday in Vermilion County Circuit Court on behalf of the Danville Township Board of Trustees.
