Man killed by Amtrak train was sitting on a rail

CHAMPAIGN – A man hit and killed by an Amtrak train Sunday night was apparently sitting on a rail of the tracks, according to the Champaign County coroner's office.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said preliminary autopsy results Monday showed that John E. Wagoner, 50, of Champaign, died from multiple severe injuries consistent with being hit by a train.
